Honest moment – when I found I was pregnant with Christian, I was also holding my 10-month old baby girl in my arms. SH*T got REAL, real quick. It took me a while to really get my brain around the fact that I was going to have another baby so soon, so I put off thinking about the design of his room for a while.

It wasn’t until I found these cool drawings on a trip to Canada (Tofino, Vancouver Island, ever been? Its super cute). I loved how these birds had so much character and personality. My son is named after my father, who passed away suddenly in 2012. I inherited several cool antique nautical accessories from him and felt like this would be the perfect spot to use them.  Eventually, I’ll have the opportunity to explain more about who their grandfather was, using these items to tell the story of his life.

Neutral Nautical Nursery

One of my favorite pieces is actually the “C” art. Below the C is my dad’s signature that I managed to find off a document he signed before he died. It is such special piece to me because his signature was so, HIM. This room turned into a neutral, nautical collection of some really special items and a space that two-year old Christian can really grow with.
