Design Process

Each project with K. Peterson Design is taken through an organized, efficient design process.

Every project begins with an Initial Design Meeting where we will meet with you and see your space or plans and learn more about your needs. After this meeting KPD will thoroughly examine the scope of work to complete your project. From there, we will draft a Design Fee Proposal that outlines the design work to be completed and attaches a fee to design your spaces. This fee is calculated as a flat fee based on the projects complexity, which will be broken up into payments throughout the length of your project.

Initial Design Meeting | Proposal for Services

1

phase

During this phase, KPD is completing the unique design of your new space and the following tasks take place:

Schematic Design | Design Development | Measurements

 2

phase

While construction is beginning we are ordering, tracking and managing the furniture that will be installed after construction is complete. All orders will be received by a warehouse that will unpack, inspect and store your furniture and accessories. If damages are found KPD and the receiving warehouse will document and handle the damage claims. During construction, KPD will make regular site visits and be on hand and in communication with your contractor and tradespeople to ensure our design is being completed as we envisioned.

Ordering & Construction

3

phase

As the construction on your home wraps up, KPD will be monitoring that all remaining items are being received and procuring accessories to style your home. All orders are completed through KPD and shipped to our receiving warehouse, where they are inspected for damage, stored and kept safe until our installation day. On installation day a team will deliver, assemble and install all of your furniture under the guidance of KPD team members. Art will be hung, pillows fluffed, shelves styled and your space will be left ready to live in.
