Design Process

Each project with K. Peterson Design is taken through an organized, efficient design process.

This is the beginning of the project. We meet and discuss all of your ideas, needs and wants for your space. We’ll take thorough measurements of your space and begin designing the home of your dreams.

Initial Design Meeting | Proposal for Services | Site Measurements

This is the design phase, where all of the dreams are put onto paper. We will prepare detailed design boards and 3D renderings of your space that will help you visualize the space you’ve been dreaming of. This includes all finishes for kitchens and baths, paint, window coverings and furniture & accessories plans.

Schematic Design | Design Development

Through our seamless project management tools, we will prepare, by room, furniture plans and do all the sourcing and ordering for you. All you have to do is hit “approve”! If needed, construction bids will be completed during this phase.

Furniture & Construction Proposals

If construction is involved, that will begin and we will make regular visits to ensure that all things are running smoothly on the job and that the design is being executed as expected. Simultaneously, we will be ordering and tracking all furniture orders. Furniture will come directly to a receiving warehouse where it will be inspected for damage and stored securely until the installation phase. No need to take up precious garage space while the work on your home is being completed!

Construction & Furniture Orders

The final and most exciting stage of the design process. The design dream will finally become a reality. Over a 1-2 day process, we will oversee the installation of all new furniture and art. Pillows will be fluffed, towels folded and candles lit. You will arrive to a fully designed and finished space. All you have to do is relax and enjoy. That is full-service design!
