Not everyone needs an interior designer. Most people are perfectly capable of selecting the finishes and furniture for their home. Hiring an interior designer is for clients who simply do not desire to do this on their own and are willing to invest in a designer to take their home to the next level. They understand the time, knowledge and intensity it takes to take a project from beginning to end, especially if construction is involved. Hiring a designer is assuring that your home is well thought out, functional and beautiful when it is completed. At KPD, we take that one step further by providing our discerning clients with the luxury experience they deserve, from beginning to end.
That is relative. As a design firm, we are shaping the way that you live every day. It takes years of experience in both school and in the field to understand how to design a well-thought-out space. We have made the mistakes, learned the lessons, and apply all of that knowledge to your space. When you see and feel the difference between a beautifully designed space and one that isn't, you will agree that hiring an interior designer is invaluable.
After your furniture proposals are complete, you will be expected to pay 100% in full for the furniture that KPD has specified. When we install, there may be additional accessories that we bring onsite to fill in different areas. You have the option to buy those!
Yes! For each space we will re-source, at the designer’s discretion, items that you find that you don't love. You will sign off on the final furniture plan before anything is ordered! However, we always remind clients that you hired us for our design eye - TRUST US.
We charge our clients fair market value for all items. This can range from regular retail cost to a small discount on the item if we get great pricing. Part of how KPD supports our employees and growing business is through selling furniture and we are grateful for the support of our clients on this!
We ask that all clients of KPD please refrain from purchasing items on their own during the design process. We pride ourselves in providing you with the best experience possible and part of that is maintaining control of the design that we have agreed to. Many things can go wrong during the procurement period that we are better equipped to handle. Additionally, due to the lost profit on an item that you source on your own, KPD reserves the right to invoice a 30% charge of that item's value. We thank you for your support of our business and your understanding in this matter.
At the bottom of every KPD furniture proposal, there is a fee that is equal to 15% of the invoice total. To make things easier on our clients and our team, this fee covers the freight/shipping charges from the manufacturer/store to the receiver. The receiver then unpacks and inspects the item, which is the receiving fee. This fee also covers the time that the items sit safely in storage and to have the team of movers deliver and install them in your home.
Most often, the answer is no. Due to the inability to return custom items and the narrow window for returns to retail stores, that makes this not possible. Sometimes exceptions are made based on the circumstances and KPD will work with you to make it right.
NO! You hired KPD to handle things calmly and efficiently when something DOES goes wrong. Unfortunately, mistakes happen, due to the fact that this is a human-run industry.
Maybe, but probably not. A lot of effort and time goes into designing your space and each item is weighed carefully against the next to determine the perfect combination of furniture and accessories for a bespoke design. Your item may require us to re-source items to make it fit and work with the rest and additional fees will be incurred to do this.
