While I’ve resided on the Eastside for many years, 2020 was the first year I’ve had a physical office and interior design studio in Bellevue, so I’m extra honored to be chosen as the Best Bellevue Interior Designer and be supported by the amazing community here. See the magazine article below!

What We Do:

In 2021, our interior design studio is focusing on custom new construction, full scale remodels, and furnishing projects in and around Bellevue, WA, the Greater Seattle area, and beyond. We find the intersection of beauty and functionality and infuse it into every design, ensuring it’s thoughtful, bespoke, and that our clients will love it for years to come.

What sets us apart here at K. Peterson Design is our interior design process. We pride ourselves on delivering a process that’s fast, efficient, high-level, and organized. Every project we take on goes through the same four-phase process:

Phase 1 – Initial Design Meeting and Proposal for Services

We begin every project with an initial design meeting where we learn more about your space/plans and needs. After, we will thoroughly examine the scope of work to complete the project which allows us to draft a design fee proposal in which we outline the work to be completed and quote the fee. We calculate the fee based on the project’s complexity as a flat fee. It will be broken up into payments throughout the entirety of the project.

Phase 2 – Schematic Design, Design Development, Measurements

In the second phase, we cover the following as we complete the design of your new space:

• Measurement meeting 
• Initial concept designs 
• Floor plans and elevation drawings
• Sourcing furniture and finish samples
• 3D drawings
• Lighting plans
• Vendor meetings for custom pieces
• Design Presentation to client
• Design revisions, if needed
• Proposals for furniture & accessories

Phase 3 – Ordering and Construction

In this phase, the construction work on your home begins and we are busy ordering, tracking, and managing the furniture to be installed in the fourth phase. Throughout this phase, KPD will be making regular site visits and be in communication with your contractor and tradespeople to ensure our design is being completed as we envisioned

Phase 4 – Installation

In our final project phase, KPD monitors all remaining items to be received and procures accessories to style your home while the last of the construction wraps up. On installation day, a team will deliver, assemble, and install all of your furniture under the guidance of KPD team members. This is the BEST part—art will be hung, pillows fluffed, shelves styled and your space will be left beautiful and ready to live in.

• Taking your space from inspiration image to reality. Here we take a look at your inspiration images and then give you ideas; walking you through the steps to give your home the same feeling.
• Looking at your home pre-remodel and making preliminary suggestions of possible layout ideas and refresh ideas.
• Room space planning— here we look at specific furniture and make suggestions on sizing and color.
