Classic White Kitchen

For my first blog post, I am going to jump right into a biggie… KITCHENS. My current client,  see {Newcastle New Build} is channeling what we are calling an “East Coast Craftsman” vibe. This means a lot of white millwork, dark floors, iron and satin nickel finishes etc. My clients are coming from the land of cherry cabinets in their current kitchen, which means that updating to something light, bright and classic was a must. Take a look at the floor plan for the new kitchen.

It is a great size with a lot of attention to detail. I’ll give that credit to the homeowners. Wife is a wonderful cook and REALLY knows her way around a kitchen. Which means, she also knows where and how she likes to keep all of the necessary components. This includes  A LOT of drawer cabinets. I can agree with her that using drawers instead of cabinets is a lot easier because you can actually reach everything!

This floor plan is preliminary and doesn’t include the appliances such as the 6-burner Wolf Range, OR the beautiful window in the blank wall space. But let me tell you its amazing.

It took a leap of faith for the homeowners, but I convinced them to go with a white cabinet in the kitchen surround. They really liked the look of a two-tone kitchen so we are doing the island in a dark espresso finish.

Here are some inspiration pictures

PS. I have such a crush on that dark ceiling. So beautiful!
That is the initial inspiration! Stay tuned for final selections as we move forward with the project!!
